Job Title: 1:1 Tutor - SEMH & SLCN & Learning through Play
Location: Ashford, Surrey
Salary: £20 - £30 per hour, depending on experience

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, patient and creative 1:1 Tutor to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

This role is ideal for someone who believes in learning through play, relationship-based practice, and nurturing approaches. You will deliver personalised sessions tailored to individual EHCP targets, focusing on engagement, communication development and emotional regulation.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver bespoke 1:1 sessions tailored to SEMH and SLCN needs
Use play-based and creative learning strategies
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Work closely with parents, SENCOs and external professionals
Track and report on student progressThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children with SEMH and/or SLCN
Knowledge of play-based learning approaches
Understanding of trauma-informed or nurturing practices
Strong behaviour management skills
A patient, calm and resilient nature
Relevant qualifications (QTS, SEN experience, SALT background, Youth Work, Psychology, etc. desirable but not essential)What We Offer
