Job Description

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a range of welcoming Primary schools and SEND provisions across Wakefield, all of which are committed to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments. These settings focus on providing tailored support to ensure every child can thrive both academically and personally.

The schools are looking to appoint a Primary SEND LSA on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Primary SEND LSA will be supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 with a range of additional needs, providing one-to-one and small group support, and helping to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities.

The successful Primary SEND LSA will have:

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• Experience working within Primary schools or SEND provisions
• Experience supporting children with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• A ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to support across the classroom
