Job Description

Senior Civil Engineer for a major Bess Project based in Ireland

Responsibilities 

Undertake planning stage designs for HV substation projects, including developing planning drawings and coordinating specialist inputs such as hydrology, ecology, and geotechnical.
Provide technical civil engineering expertise during the development phase of HV substation projects to facilitate planning consent and capital approval.
Undertake the Lead Engineer role for projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary designs, interfacing with clients and stakeholders, and managing fees and programmes.
Specify, manage and be accountable for sub-contractor and sub-consultant inputs for all necessary stages of the projects.
Coordinate with various stakeholders, including local authorities, customers, consultants, and landowners, to ensure project milestones are met.
Promote and actively participate in the safety management culture across all activities by taking ownership and demonstrating a visible commitment to safety.
Improve and standardise processes by implementing feedback and lessons learned from completed projects.
Support the technical and professional development of junior staff 

 Requirements

At least 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering or planning stage design.
 Strong technical skills in civil engineering and/or planning stage design.
Proven ability to deliver results for significant projects and manage key aspects of projects. Clear commercial focus and excellent communication skills.
Strong safety awareness, communication and technical report writing skills.
Valid full driver's licence for use in the ROI; access to a car; and the flexibility to travel nationwide one to two times per mont
