Location: Wollaton, Nottingham (NG8)
Salary: £27,040–£29,640 per year
Hours: Full‑Time, Permanent

The Role: Senior Support Worker
We are recruiting an experienced Senior Support Worker for an established children’s residential home in Wollaton, Nottingham (NG8). This is a solo‑occupancy home, supporting a young person aged 13 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
As a Senior Support Worker, you will act as a consistent, therapeutic parent, providing stability, high‑quality care and emotional support within a nurturing and trauma‑informed environment.
This Senior Support Worker role is ideal for someone who wants to work in a calm, well‑resourced setting where care is relational, meaningful and genuinely child‑focused.
About the Provider
The provider is a small, established and fully regulated children’s residential care organisation operating nine homes across Nottinghamshire. Recently rated Outstanding by Ofsted, the organisation is known for delivering therapeutic, high‑quality care for children aged 5–17, supported by strong leadership and clinical input.
Key Responsibilities – Senior Support Worker
Deliver therapeutic, child‑centred care aligned with care plans
Promote emotional wellbeing, stability and positive relationships
Support personal development, routines and life skills
Work collaboratively within a supportive staff team
Use trauma‑informed approaches, including PACE and DDP
Maintain safeguarding standards and accurate record‑keeping
Training & Development
Comprehensive 2‑week induction programme
Fully funded QCF Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications
1:1 supervision and group sessions with the home’s therapist
Ongoing in‑house training and reflective practice
Structured career progression pathway
Requirements
Minimum 1 year’s experience in a regulated children’s residential home
Level 3 QCF Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
Experience supporting children with EBD (PACE/DDP desirable)
Strong communication and written skills
Aged 21+
Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
Enhanced DBS required
