The Role: Senior Support Worker
We are recruiting an experienced Senior Support Worker to join a well‑established children’s residential home in Nottingham (NG8). This service provides long‑term, stable homes for children aged 8–18, supporting emotional wellbeing, routine and personal development.
This Senior Support Worker role is ideal for professionals who want to focus on consistent, nurturing care, without exposure to regular aggressive behaviours or frequent physical interventions.
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll support day‑to‑day operations, lead shifts, and mentor Residential Support Workers while working closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager.
Key Responsibilities – Senior Support Worker
Lead and support staff to deliver high‑quality residential childcare
Promote a safe, nurturing and structured environment
Support and implement person‑centred care plans
Monitor and record children’s progress and wellbeing
Ensure safeguarding, policies and procedures are followed
Build positive relationships with children and professionals
Requirements
NVQ / QCF Level 3/4 in Children’s Residential Care (preferred)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care
Previous leadership or shift‑leading experience within a children's residential setting
Full UK driving licence
Right to work in the UK
Working Hours
174 hours per month
Includes sleep‑in duties (23:00–07:00)
