Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join a growing and forward-thinking insurance team based in Bury. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong underwriter to take ownership of complex risks, influence underwriting strategy, and support the development of junior team members.

Senior Underwriter – Responsibilities:

  * Assess, analyse, and underwrite complex risks in line with company appetite and authority levels

  * Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and partners to support profitable business growth

  * Support the development and mentoring of junior underwriters

  * Contribute to underwriting strategy, pricing adequacy, and portfolio management

  * Review and refine underwriting guidelines and referral processes

  * Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal governance standards

Senior Underwriter – Person Specification:

  * Proven experience as a Senior Underwriter (or strong Underwriter ready to step up)

  * Strong technical underwriting knowledge within relevant insurance classes

  * Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills

  * Strong analytical and decision-making ability

  * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, commercial environment

Senior Underwriter – The Package:

  * £35-45k

  * Hybrid Working – 3 days from home

  * Onsite Parking

  * Commission available
