SHEQ Manager Location: Glasgow Salary: Up to £65,000 DOE + Benefits Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time The Opportunity A growing organisation operating within the renewable energy and energy infrastructure sector is looking for an experienced SHEQ Manager to join its team in Glasgow. The business delivers complex energy infrastructure projects across the UK, with a particular focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy and associated construction and civil engineering works. This is an excellent opportunity for a SHEQ professional to take a key role in maintaining high standards across a growing project portfolio, while helping to develop and embed a strong health, safety, environmental and quality culture. The Role As SHEQ Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's SHEQ systems, policies and procedures across renewable energy and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project and site teams to ensure compliance with legislation, industry standards and company procedures, while driving continuous improvement and promoting a positive safety culture. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement and monitor SHEQ policies, procedures and management systems. Conduct regular risk assessments, audits and site inspections. Provide SHEQ guidance, training and toolbox talks to employees and subcontractors. Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. Monitor environmental and sustainability initiatives across projects. Keep up to date with relevant legislation, regulatory changes and industry best practice. Produce accurate SHEQ reports and maintain appropriate documentation and records. Promote and continually improve a strong health, safety, environmental and quality culture. Work closely with project teams to ensure SHEQ requirements are embedded throughout project planning and delivery. Provide practical SHEQ support across operational and construction activities. About You The successful candidate will have previous experience in a SHEQ role within renewable energy, BESS, construction, civil engineering or a closely related industry. You will have a strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements, with the ability to communicate effectively and influence teams at all levels. Essential Experience & Skills Previous experience in a SHEQ / HSEQ / HSQE role. Experience within renewable energy, BESS, construction or civil engineering. Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality legislation. Experience undertaking risk assessments, site inspections and audits. Knowledge and practical experience of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. Experience supporting accident and incident investigations. Strong communication, training and influencing skills. Excellent report writing and documentation skills. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Ability to work effectively with project teams, site personnel, contractors and senior management. Desirable Qualifications NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent - NEBOSH Diploma desirable. IEMA Environmental qualification. ISO Internal or Lead Auditor qualification. First Aid and/or Fire Safety training. Working knowledge of CDM Regulations. Experience working within renewable energy or BESS projects. What's on Offer?
