Shift Team Leader – Energy from Waste Power Station

Excellent Salary + Bonus + Benefits

SCINERGY Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Shift Team Leader to join a leading Energy from Waste operator at their site in the South West near Exeter.

As a Shift Team Leader you will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations whilst leading a shift team of Operators.

The Role

Key responsibilities of the Shift Team Leader include:

  * Leading and supervising a team of Control Room & Assistant Operators ensuring efficient operation of the power station

  * Ensuring the plant operates in line with environmental permits and site procedures

  * Acting as an SAP, managing safe systems of work including permits

  * Coordinating shift activities, including staff and contractor supervision

  * Supporting training, development, and progression of operational personnel

  * Working closely with maintenance teams to minimise downtime and maximise availability

  * Maintaining a strong health & safety culture across all shift activities

About You

We’re looking for an experienced operations professional with a strong background in power generation and a proven ability to lead teams in a safety-critical environment.

You’ll ideally have:

  * Experience as a Shift Team Leader / Production Team Leader or Lead Operator within a power generation environment or similar – EFW, biomass, coal, CCGT, CHP

  * A relevant technical engineering qualification (NVQ, C&G, HNC, BTEC etc)

  * Experience as a Senior Authorised Person

  * Strong experience supervising operational teams and coordinating contractors

  * Good H&S awareness and understanding – IOSH or NEBOSH is desirable

  * A flexible approach to working 12-hour shift patterns
