The Role
As a Site Agent, you will take full responsibility for the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of construction activities. You will work closely with project and commercial teams to ensure programme, cost, and quality targets are met while upholding the highest standards of health and safety and environmental compliance.
You will lead site teams, manage subcontractors, interface with clients, and play a key role in planning, reporting, and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Site Management

Oversee successful delivery of civil engineering and water sector projects

Ensure works are completed safely, to specification, and without defects
*
Lead a team of Sub Agents, Engineers, and Foremen where required
*
Develop and implement Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs and Waste Management Plans
*
Manage construction programmes and short-term look-aheads
*
Coordinate procurement schedules and ensure adequate site resources
*
Maximise commercial performance across all assigned projects
Client Interface
*
Represent the business professionally with customers, public bodies, and stakeholders
*
Deliver projects that meet or exceed customer expectations
Cost Control
Manage project cost plans to maximise value
Maintain accurate site records and diaries
Highlight value engineering opportunities
Challenge inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement
Reporting
Produce accurate monthly internal and client reports
Lead weekly site meetings
About You – Essential Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Site Agent in civil engineering, ideally in regulated environments
Strong understanding of CDM, contractual conditions, design and risk management, forecasting, and cost control
Solid knowledge of specifications and relevant testing regimes
Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
CSCS card (mandatory)
IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS
Temporary Works Coordinator
Confined space training
Strong communication, leadership, and team-management skills
Ability to resolve design issues and drive high-performance behaviours

Temporary Works Coordinator qualification

Professional accreditation (e.g., CEng MICE)

Experience with Primavera P6
*
Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts

Direct delivery experience
Large-diameter clean water pipeline installation and commissioning
Streetworks, ITPs, quality inspections
Temporary works coordination
Health, safety, and environmental management
Permit issuing and service avoidance
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Managing NEC contract processes (EWN/CE), design inputs, subcontractors, programme and cost forecasting
Stakeholder and client management
