Site Manager – Facilities | Gateshead | £42,000

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day facilities and operational requirements of a busy site in Gateshead.

This is a hands-on management position suited to someone with a strong background in facilities management, building maintenance, site operations or hard FM, who is confident managing contractors, coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  * Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the site.

  * Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities.

  * Manage subcontractors, contractors and external service providers.

  * Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

  * Carry out regular site inspections and identify maintenance requirements.

  * Manage health & safety compliance across the site.

  * Ensure statutory inspections, servicing and compliance requirements are maintained.

  * Monitor and manage contractors' performance.

  * Respond to and resolve facilities and maintenance issues.

  * Maintain accurate records, reports and site documentation.

  * Assist with budgets, quotations and procurement where required.

  * Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal teams.

  * Ensure the site remains clean, safe, compliant and fully operational.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  * Experienced in Site Management, Facilities Management or Building Maintenance.

  * Confident managing contractors and maintenance teams.

  * Strong on health & safety and compliance.

  * Organised with excellent attention to detail.

  * Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

  * Confident communicating with clients, contractors and colleagues.

  * Practical, hands-on and proactive in their approach.

  * Comfortable taking ownership of site operations.

Package

  * £42,000 per annum

  * Permanent position

  * Based in Gateshead

  * Monday–Friday
