The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to deliver a toilet refurbishment and fit-out project within a large, live retail environment in Southampton.

The role is with a well-established interiors and refurbishment contractor, recognised for delivering high-quality commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects across sectors including retail, leisure, and commercial spaces. The business has a strong reputation for working within live environments, maintaining programme while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing the day-to-day delivery of refurbishment and fit-out works, ensuring the project is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Given the nature of the scheme, experience working in live retail environments is highly desirable, with a strong focus on coordination, safety, and customer-facing professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Full site management of refurbishment and fit-out works
Managing subcontractors and site teams on a live project
Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and specification
Maintaining strict health and safety standards within a live environment
Managing site logistics and sequencing of works
Ensuring high-quality finishes and attention to detail
Liaising with client representatives and stakeholders
Overseeing documentation including RAMS and site reports

Requirements

Proven experience as a Site Manager on fit-out or refurbishment projects
Experience working in live retail or commercial environments
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage projects independently

Essential requirements include SMSTS, CSCS Card, First Aid at Work and Asbestos Awareness.
