Construction 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 (𝗡𝗼.𝟭) | 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 | 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲 | 𝟮𝟬 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 | Start: 1st September
A typical morning for a construction Site Manager...
7:30 – "Morning... the delivery's been delayed."
8:00 – "The electrician can't start because he's waiting for the dryliner."
8:02 – "The dryliner can't start because he's waiting for the electrician."
8:15 – "Have you got five minutes?"
If that sounds painfully familiar - keep reading.
We're looking for a genuine No.1 Site Manager to take full responsibility for delivering a £3m project within a live manufacturing facility in Newcastle.
Not someone to simply keep an eye on things.
Someone who enjoys making decisions, solving problems before they become everyone else's problems, and somehow keeping the programme alive despite everyone trying their best to kill it.
The project includes:
Concrete mezzanine
Mini piling
Internal fit-out
Working within a live manufacturing facility (don't worry... you're not pouring concrete around moving forklifts.)You'll probably enjoy this if... You've mastered the art of translating:
"We'll definitely be finished this afternoon."
...into...
"See you next Tuesday."
You know that "five minutes away" can mean anything from five minutes to tomorrow morning.
You've answered the same question six times before your first coffee.
And you've learned that sometimes the biggest achievement of the day is getting every subcontractor pointing in the same direction.
We're ideally looking for someone with:
Previous No.1 Site Manager experience delivering £2m-£5m projects
Main contractor background
Industrial, manufacturing, commercial or refurbishment experience
SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid
Strong subcontractor management skills (because occasionally they need managing...)Previous experience within a live manufacturing environment would be great, but it's not essential.
If you're available from 1st September, fancy running your own project, and can still keep your sense of humour after hearing "while you're here..." for the fifteenth time before lunch, we'd love to hear from you.
