Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to work on a large commercial construction project in Knottingley.

The successful candidate will have a strong background managing large-scale commercial construction projects and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Site Manager duties will include:

  * Managing and coordinating day-to-day site activities

  * Managing subcontractors and trades on site

  * Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme

  * Monitoring progress against the construction programme

  * Carrying out site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings

  * Maintaining high standards of health and safety across the project

  * Coordinating with the Project Manager, subcontractors and wider project team

  * Managing site logistics and ensuring good housekeeping standards

  * Monitoring quality and resolving issues as they arise

  * Maintaining accurate site records and documentation

Site Manager requirements:

  * Strong understanding of construction processes and site management

  * Valid SMSTS Certificate – essential

  * Valid First Aid Certificate – essential

  * Valid CSCS Managers Card – essential

  * Excellent knowledge of construction health and safety

  * Strong communication and subcontractor management skills

  * Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain programme deadlines

  * Must be prepared to work some weekends when required
