Location: Tesco Store - Rawtenstall
Project Duration: 12 weeks
Start Date: 24 August 2026
Working Pattern: Days & Nights (1 site manager required for days and 1 for nights)
Contract: 12-week project
Rate: £(Apply online only)/shift (negotiable)
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a 12-week refrigeration project at a live Tesco store.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day site operations across both day and night shifts, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring the works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required programme.
Experience working within live retail environments, particularly Tesco stores, is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
  * Manage the refrigeration works from mobilisation through to completion.
  * Coordinate site activities across both day and night shifts.
  * Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and specialist refrigeration teams.
  * Ensure works are completed in accordance with the project programme and deadlines.
  * Maintain high standards of health, safety and site compliance.
  * Conduct and review RAMS, toolbox talks and site inductions.
  * Coordinate deliveries, access and site logistics.
  * Liaise with the Tesco store management team to minimise disruption to trading.
  * Monitor workmanship, quality and progress.
  * Manage snagging and ensure works are completed to the required standard.
  * Maintain accurate site records and daily reports.
  * Ensure all works comply with relevant CDM and health & safety requirements.
  * Provide effective handovers between day and night teams.
Essential Requirements
Candidates must hold:
  * SMSTS
  * CSCS Card
  * First Aid at Work
  * Valid Tesco Training Card
The successful candidate should also have:
  * Previous Site Management experience.
  * Experience working on refrigeration projects or similar M&E works.
  * Experience working within live retail environments.
  * Strong communication and subcontractor-management skills.
  * The ability to work across both days and nights as required.
  * A strong focus on health, safety, quality and programme delivery
