Job Description

Site Quality Engineer

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Quality Engineer to support the delivery of a live construction project.

The role will primarily involve inspecting completed and ongoing works, accurately recording site data and maintaining clear quality and technical records. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently on site, identifying defects or non-conformances and ensuring that works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and required standards.

Key Responsibilities

  * Inspect ongoing and completed construction works against drawings, specifications and quality requirements

  * Accurately record inspection findings and site data

  * Complete inspection records, check sheets and quality documentation

  * Take measurements and verify completed works where required

  * Maintain accurate photographic records of works

  * Identify defects, discrepancies and non-conforming works

  * Record and report outstanding works and remedial requirements

  * Monitor corrective works through to satisfactory completion

  * Review drawings and technical information to confirm compliance

  * Liaise with Site Managers, Project Managers, subcontractors and other members of the project team

  * Assist with quality assurance and quality control procedures

  * Maintain organised records suitable for project handover and audit purposes

  * Provide clear progress updates and reports to the management team

Candidate Requirements

  * Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within the construction industry

  * Strong experience inspecting and recording construction works

  * Able to confidently interpret construction drawings and specifications

  * Good understanding of construction quality standards and tolerances

  * Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills

  * Competent using tablets, laptops and digital site reporting systems

  * Confident identifying and documenting defects and non-conformances

  * Able to communicate effectively with site management and subcontractors

  * Organised and capable of managing inspections across multiple work areas

  * Relevant construction or engineering qualification preferred

  * Valid CSCS card or SSSTS OR SMSTS

This position would suit a practical, site-based Engineer who is technically competent and particularly strong in inspection, quality control and accurate recording of construction information
