About the Role
Northampton Children's Trust is currently seeking experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care Teams, with a specific focus on court work.
This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a varied caseload and play a key role in progressing cases through court proceedings while ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people.
These positions sit within Children in Care teams, with a dedicated court function, requiring strong report writing skills and confidence working within legal frameworks. The role offers a hybrid working model, with flexibility depending on service needs.
Location: One Angel Square, Northampton
Rate: £38 per hour
Working Pattern: Hybrid (dependent on court hearings, CIC reviews, and visits)
Key Responsibilities
Managing a caseload involving ongoing court proceedings
Completing high-quality assessments, court reports, and statements
Undertaking all statutory responsibilities as a case-holding social worker
Attending court hearings and representing the service as required
Carrying out statutory visits and participating in Children in Care reviewsRequirements
Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration
Experience managing court proceedings within Children's Services
Strong assessment and report writing skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentThis role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. As this role is eligible for an Enhanced DBS check, applicants are required to declare any cautions and convictions that are not protected under current filtering rules.
