About the Role
Northamptonshire Children's Trust is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Children in Care Long-Term Team, supporting children and young people who are looked after and ensuring they receive high‑quality, consistent, and relationship‑based social work practice.
This role involves long-term case management for children who are looked after, focusing on stability, planning for permanence, and helping each child achieve the best possible outcomes.
You will be based at One Angel Square, Northampton, with a hybrid working arrangement. The service operates a duty day system, and you will be required to be office‑based on your allocated duty days.
Key Responsibilities
Hold a caseload of looked‑after children, providing high‑quality statutory social work
Undertake regular visits, assessments, care planning, and reviews
Build strong, trusting relationships with children, carers, and relevant professionals
Ensure plans remain child‑centred, timely, and outcome‑focused
Work collaboratively with partner agencies to promote stability and permanencySkills
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Experience working with children in care or long‑term safeguarding
Strong assessment, communication, and relationship‑building skills
