Job Description

Milk Education are recruiting for a purpose-driven, ambitious Teaching Assistant to join a SEN Primary School in Sheffield to work on a long-term basis starting in January!

You’ll be part of a supportive school community, working with an experienced team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants. The school provides education for children with Autism, Communication and Learning difficulties. Your main role will be to work 1:1 with students whilst continuing to support the Class Teacher, helping the pupils to succeed both academically and socially in the classroom.

* This is an exciting role for a new or experienced Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic school where ‘pupils come first’ and are taught and cared for as individuals.

What You’ll Be Doing in the Role: 

* Support the inclusion and wellbeing of all pupils in the classroom.
* Provide 1:1 support for pupils
* Run fun and engaging catch-up or small group sessions when needed.
* Create a warm and positive learning space for all children.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

* Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting, ideally with SEN support.
* A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (CACHE, Childcare, NNEB, or similar) would be desirable.
* If you do not have the relevant qualifications but do have a genuine passion for working with pupils within an SEN setting the school would be open to hearing from you and would welcome, you to attend a showcase day.
* Passionate about working with children who have learning difficulties and autism
* Patient, calm and positive approach to support learning and behaviour.
* A team player who can work well with the class teacher and school staff.
