Teaching Assistant – Autism & Complex Learning Needs Full-Time | Term Time Only | Temp to Perm Opportunity Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs to achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting supporting young people with Autism and Complex Learning Profiles. Please note: Due to the rural location of the school and the lack of public transport, applicants must be able to drive and have access to their own vehicle. The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students throughout the school day, helping them access learning, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes. You may work within a classroom, support a small group, or provide dedicated 1:1 support to an individual student. While consistency is important, flexibility is essential. You may be required to support different classes, year groups, or students to meet the needs of the school. About the Students The young people attending this specialist setting have a range of additional needs, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD and other co-existing needs Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) Speech, language and communication needs Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) Sensory processing and integration differences Challenging behaviour Histories of disrupted education and placement breakdowns What We're Looking For A caring, patient, and resilient individual A genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to remain calm in challenging situations Experience working with children or young people is advantageous but not essential GCSE Maths and English at Grade C / Level 4 or above (essential) Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential) Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm Term time only (39 weeks per year) Start date: ASAP What We Offer Temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term career prospects Comprehensive training and ongoing support The opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people's lives A supportive and welcoming staff team Valuable experience within a specialist educational setting If you are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and want to be part of a dedicated team making a real difference, we would love to hear from you.
