The successful Team Leader will be supervising a small team and reporting to the Operations Manager.
- Orders: To oversee and assist with the accurate picking and dispatch of customer orders, ensuring customer SLAs are adhered to. Ability to confidently use customer order portals, downloading EDI orders creating labels, manifests, arrange transport and updating dispatched orders.
- Proactively takes accountability for achieving / exceeding customer requirements, driving tasks through to completion
- Goods Received and Stock: Plan the unloading, receiving, checking and store of goods received in designated areas of containerised products, booking received product onto the ERP system. Check & inspect goods to identify potentially damaged items. Maintaining accurate stock figures by regular stock takes.
- Samples: Track samples, sample shipping quotes and arrange transport.
- To supervise the running of a safe and efficient operation, working within clear guidelines to help achieve operational standards.
- Manage 2 full time staff and temps as required. To maintain a high level of H&S awareness of a circa 28,000sqft warehouse facility, inclusive of Fire Alarm Testing, Evacuation, Emergency Lights, Fire Extinguishers and Manual Handling etc. Ensure all plant and machinery is in good working order and is operated correctly.
- To review current processes established on site and identify any improvements.
- To drive for a culture of continuous improvement.
- To deal with customer and supplier communication via portal, email and telephone.
- To positively support and confidently communicate all decisions by management.
The following skills are highly desirable for a Team Leader:
Min 2 years’ experience of working within a warehousing environment at a skilled level.
Demonstrable record of working to SLA’s and delivering against targets.
Knowledge of Microsoft packages Word, Excel, Outlook.
Ability to provide reports and statistical feedback for senior managers.
A current Reach and or Counterbalance truck licence.
