We're proud to be partnering with a leading food manufacturer on an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Manager to join their team.
This is a key leadership position within the Technical function, acting as a guardian of food safety, quality, legality, authenticity and customer compliance. You'll have significant influence across multiple functions while working closely with senior stakeholders to strengthen technical standards, manage risk and support continued commercial growth.

What You'll Be Doing:
Lead the site HACCP and food safety agenda, maintaining robust HACCP systems, allergen risk assessments, validation and verification programmes, while ensuring technical standards remain aligned with BRCGS, legislation and customer Codes of Practice
Own audit and compliance performance, leading customer, regulatory and third-party audits, driving gap analysis and ensuring corrective actions, CAPA and continuous improvement plans are delivered effectively and on time
Drive quality and customer assurance, overseeing complaints, incidents, non-conformances and OOS investigations through structured root cause analysis, trend analysis and preventative action to protect consumers and brand reputation
Lead supplier assurance and raw material compliance, managing supplier approval, risk assessment, audits, specifications, KPI performance and improvement programmes to ensure ingredients meet food safety, legal, quality, ethical and customer requirements
Partner with NPD and commercial teams throughout the Stage Gate process, supporting new product approvals, QAS requirements and customer expectations while ensuring technical risks are identified and controlled from concept through to launch
Provide technical leadership across both sites, working closely with Quality, Operations, Engineering, Hygiene, Supply Chain and NPD to embed technical requirements, improve standards and build a proactive food safety and quality culture
Monitor technical performance and emerging risks, analysing KPIs, complaints, pest trends, audit findings and food safety issues to provide clear visibility to senior stakeholders and drive preventative improvements
Deputise for the Head of Technical when required, providing technical leadership and supporting wider business priorities, budgets, customer relationships and the effective management of the Technical function
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience within a Technical, Quality or Food Safety management role within food manufacturing, with strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, food legislation, customer standards and technical compliance
Strong supplier assurance and auditing experience, including raw material risk assessment, supplier approval, specifications, CAPA and performance management; Lead Auditor experience would be advantageous
A confident and commercially aware leader with excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, capable of challenging standards, influencing stakeholders and managing competing priorities across multiple sites
