Job Description

Infinitive Resources is seeking a Test & Electrical Engineer to join our team at our Loughborough depot, supporting rolling stock overhaul, maintenance and modification activities. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on electrical testing, fault finding and rectification across a range of rolling stock platforms. The successful candidate will work as part of the production team to ensure all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with required technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  * Carry out electrical testing, diagnostics and fault finding on rolling stock systems.

  * Undertake rectification and repair of electrical faults in line with technical

  * specifications and work instructions.

  * Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation to support fault diagnosis.

  * Support commissioning and functional testing activities as required.

  * Rolling Stock Maintenance & Modifications

  * Complete electrical installation, rewiring and modification work on various locomotive and rolling stock platforms.

  * Assist with planned maintenance and overhaul activities.

  * Identify and report any arising additional work (AAW) discovered during inspection or testing.

  * Accurately complete job cards, test sheets and associated documentation.

  *  Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures, engineering standards and safety requirements.

  * Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and ensure calibrated equipment is within date where applicable.

  * Maintain a clean and organised working environment.

  * Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying practical solutions to recurring technical issues.

Candidate Requirements

  * Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in an electrical engineering discipline.

  * Proven hands-on experience in electrical testing and fault finding.

  * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

  * Experience working within rail, rolling stock or a heavy engineering environment.

  * Experience working on locomotive platforms.

  * 25kV switching experience.

  * Depot driver or shunter competence.

  * Experience with commissioning and functional testing of rail vehicles
