Traffic Operations Manager | N.Ireland | Logistics | £60k

Overview

Responsible for overseeing day-to-day transport operations, ensuring efficient planning, high service standards, and effective team performance across a busy logistics desk. Acts as the key escalation point for operational issues and drives continuous improvement across processes and people.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily desk operations, ensuring adequate staffing and smooth workflow

Lead, train, and develop planners and coordinators, including performance reviews and onboarding

Act as first point of escalation for driver and customer issues, resolving promptly or escalating where required

Monitor service delivery, ensuring all contracts meet performance and quality standards

Oversee compliance with transport procedures, documentation, and legal requirements

Coordinate with fleet teams to ensure timely servicing, maintenance, and vehicle availability

Track driver performance, attendance, and holidays

Produce operational reports and highlight risks or improvement opportunities

Drive a "fix it now" approach to problem solving and continuous improvement

Support wider operations and contribute to business improvement initiatives

Requirements

Experience in a transport planning or traffic management role within logistics

Strong knowledge of UK & Ireland geography and transport regulations

Confident communicator across all levels

High level of IT literacy (digital-first operation)

Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work to tight deadlines

Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset

Flexible approach to working hours and operational demands

CPC is desirable

Package

£50,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience)
