Trainee Process Operative

Location: Tewkesbury
 Salary: Starting at £14.12 per hour, rising with training (up to £14.54)
 Hours: 37.5 hours per week
 Shifts:

Early: 05:00–13:00
Day: 09:00–17:00
Late: 13:00–Finish
Sundays: 06:00–Finish (typically 10–11 hours)

Our agency is delighted to be supporting a well-established dairy manufacturer in Tewkesbury in their search for a Trainee Process Operative. About the Role

The Trainee Process Operative will join a busy production team responsible for the safe and hygienic intake, control, and processing of raw milk. This position includes hands-on learning, industry training, and clear progression into a full Process Operative role and beyond.

Working Pattern:

5 shifts per week, Monday–Sunday
Rotating start times depending on operational needs (from 05:00)
Your Training & Development Pathway

Stage 1: Trainee Process Operative (6–7 months)

Work on the external tanker bay, ensuring hygienic raw milk intake
Gain practical process experience
Study for a Level 2 Food Safety & HACCP qualification
Receive continuous support from the Learning & Development team
Stage 2: Process Operative Progression

Move into internal tank operations
Train in the Pasteurisation process
Work toward a Level 3 Food Safety & HACCP qualification
Opportunity to progress to Process Technician
Key Responsibilities

Safely intake, control, and process dairy products within strict hygiene standards
Operate machinery, including CIP equipment, following company procedures
Support safe working practices and maintain excellent hygiene
Communicate clearly with colleagues and liaise across departments
Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining smooth production flow
What We’re Looking For

Experience in food production or machine operation is highly desirable
Candidates from fast-paced or process-driven environments will also be considered
Strong attention to detail and methodical working style
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to work varying shifts and adapt to business needs
Must adhere to strict food hygiene rules: only a plain wedding band allowed; no jewellery, makeup, perfumes, or strong deodorants in production areas
