Trainee Road Freight Coordinator

Manchester

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00-17:00

Salary: Up to £24,000 per annum

I currently have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Road Freight Import Coordinator with some experience in road freight, logistics or import operations to join a well-established logistics company in Manchester. 

What you'll be doing:

Supporting and coordinating European road freight import shipments from collection through to delivery

Assisting with and checking import documentation, ensuring customs clearance requirements are met accurately and on time

Liaising with European partners, hauliers, and customers to manage transport schedules and delivery updates

Tracking and monitoring shipments, identifying and helping to resolve any delays or issues

Learning to prepare competitive import quotations and manage client accounts

Building knowledge of European transport routes, customs procedures, and Incoterms

What we're looking for:

Some experience in road freight, logistics, or import operations

A genuine interest in developing a long-term logistics career

Strong organisational and communication skills

A proactive approach and ability to work well under pressure

Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
