Job Description

Vehicle Technician
Our client, a reputable family-run independent service centre based in Wallingford, is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their busy workshop. With a history of delivering quality service since 1983, this well-established business offers stability, excellent working conditions, and opportunities for career development. The successful Vehicle Technician will become a valued member of a friendly and motivated team committed to providing exceptional customer service and vehicle care.
Benefits for the successful Vehicle Technician:
  * Competitive salary between £30,000 and £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience
  * Monthly workshop performance bonus (approximately £5,000 per annum)
  * 30 days annual leave, including bank holidays

  * Monday to Friday working hours, 8:00am to 5:30pm, with two 30-minute breaks
Duties of the Vehicle Technician:
  * Carry out fault diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles
  * Accurately diagnose faults and report vehicle conditions, safety, reliability, and performance issues to the Workshop Manager
  * Ensure work is completed following health and safety standards and quality procedures
  * Maintain high standards of workmanship in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  * Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the workshop
Requirements:
  * NECESSARY: Valid UK driving licence with minimal points
  * Desirable: IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (not essential if extensive practical experience is demonstrated)
  * Extensive practical experience as a Vehicle Technician, with the ability to work independently and take initiative
  * Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  * Strong work ethic and motivation to achieve targets set by management
  * Ability to deliver high-quality work consistently in a busy workshop environment
  * An MOT testing license (Class 4 or 7) would be advantageous but is not essential
