About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our client team. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in keeping the yard and machinery clean, organised, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will have experience working with heavy-duty equipment and confidence operating diggers, forklifts, and other plant machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate diggers, forklifts, and other yard or plant machinery (valid licences preferred)
* Keep the yard tidy, organised, and safe at all times
* Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of machinery and tools
* Assist with loading/unloading deliveries and moving materials around the site
* Ensure compliance with all site safety procedures and company policies
* Support general yard operations and assist other team members as required
Requirements:
* Proven experience working with heavy-duty machinery
* Confidence operating forklifts and/or plant machinery (valid licences preferred)
* Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
* Able to work both independently and as part of a team
* Basic mechanical or tool knowledge
