 Pay: Inner London M1-M6 (£206.75 - £268.21 per day, PAYE)
 Hours: 08:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

We are delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and creative independent primary school in Islington that is seeking a dedicated Year 6 Class Teacher to join their team for a full academic year maternity cover from September 2026 to July 2027.

 Hours: 08:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

As a Year 6 Class Teacher, you will take full responsibility for your class and play a key role in preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school. Responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the KS2 National Curriculum
Preparing pupils for end-of-year expectations, including SATs and 11+ assessments
Using assessment effectively to monitor progress, inform planning, and raise attainment
Creating a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes independence and resilience
Providing strong pastoral care, supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing alongside academic success
Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and fostering a positive learning culture
Working collaboratively with colleagues as part of the Upper KS2 team
Communicating effectively with parents and carers to support pupil progress
Contributing to the wider life of the school and maintaining high professional standardsThe Ideal Candidate Will:

Have strong KS2 teaching experience, ideally within Year 6
Be confident in preparing pupils for SATs and 11+ assessments
Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that inspire learners
Use data effectively to support progress and close attainment gaps
Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and high expectations
Provide outstanding pastoral support with a nurturing and empathetic approach
Thrive in a collaborative, reflective, and supportive team environmentAbout the School
