Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a friendly and supportive team at a primary school located in York. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a real difference in the lives of their pupils. 

It is to work Monday - Friday full time, from 1st June - 17th July. 

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, fostering a positive classroom environment, and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities: 

Teaching and Learning 

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum. 

Assess, record, and report on pupil's progress and attainment. 

Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all learners. 

Curriculum and Assessment 

Use a range of assessment strategies to inform planning and support pupil progress. 

Track pupil data and contribute to school-wide monitoring and reporting. 

Collaboration and Communication  

Work effectively with teaching assistants, support staff, and other colleagues. 

Communicate regularly with parents/carers about pupil progress and well-being. 

Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events. 

Classroom and Resource Management 

Organise and maintain a stimulating classroom environment. 

Ensure resources are used effectively and safely. 

Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

Professional Development 

Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice. 

Contribute to school improvement initiatives and curriculum development. 

Stay informed about educational research, policy, and best practice.

Requirements: 

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 

Experience teaching in KS2 (ECTs welcome to apply) 

A commitment to inclusive education and pupil well-being 

Strong classroom management and communication skills 

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents 

Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
