Job Description

We are delighted to be working with a fantastic growing organisation to hire its new Accounts Assistant.

Role Overview

The Accounts Assistant will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their accounting career within a fast-paced, operationally focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  * Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner

  * Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices

  * Prepare payment runs and reconcile supplier statements

  * Handle supplier queries and maintain strong relationships

Accounts Receivable

  * Raise and issue customer invoices

  * Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding payments

  * Allocate incoming payments and reconcile discrepancies

Banking & Reconciliation

  * Perform daily bank reconciliations

  * Post and reconcile cash receipts and payments

  * Assist with cash flow tracking

General Finance Support

  * Assist with month-end processes, including journal entries and accruals

  * Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems

  * Support audits and provide documentation as required

  * Assist in payroll administration

Key Skills & Experience

  * Previous experience in an accounts or finance role

  * Understanding of basic accounting principles

  * Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  * Good organisational and time management skills

  * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar)

  * Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

Qualifications

  * AAT qualification (or studying towards) is desirable but not essential

  * GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
