About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be key in supporting students with ASD to access learning, develop social and emotional skills, and achieve their full potential. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff, you will help create a calm, inclusive and engaging learning environment tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with ASD.
- Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies.
- Support pupils social communication, emotional regulation, and independence skills.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, structured and positive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external specialists.
- Encourage student engagement through patience, creativity, and consistency.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD or additional learning needs (desirable but not essential).
- A calm, empathetic and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to follow guidance and work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for helping young people thrive.
