Job Description

Assistant Site Manager – Manchester

Location: Manchester
Start: ASAP

We are currently looking for an Assistant Site Manager to join a live construction project in Manchester, working closely with the Project Manager.

This role will be mainly focused on site administration, paperwork and Health & Safety, with some site-based duties including regular walk rounds and monitoring site activities.

Duties will include:

  * Completing and maintaining site induction paperwork

  * Assisting with Health & Safety documentation and compliance

  * Maintaining site records and paperwork

  * Assisting with RAMS, permits and other site documentation

  * Carrying out regular site walk rounds and reporting any issues

  * Supporting the Project Manager with general site administration

  * Liaising with site personnel and subcontractors

  * Updating computer-based systems and spreadsheets

The ideal candidate will have:

  * Previous experience working on construction sites in a Site Manager / Assistant Site Manager / Site Supervisor capacity

  * Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures

  * Strong IT and computer skills – this is important for the role

  * Good attention to detail and organisational skills

  * Ability to complete and maintain site paperwork accurately

  * SMSTS / SSSTS and CSCS

  * Good communication skills

This would suit someone who enjoys the administrative and compliance side of site management but is still comfortable being out on site carrying out walk rounds and speaking with subcontractors.
