Empowering Learning is recruiting experienced and resilient Behavioural Specialist Teaching Assistants to support learners across Cardiff schools and colleges. We are seeking individuals with experience in mental health, emotional and behavioural disorders, social and emotional needs, SEMH, and challenging behaviour. These roles are ideal for those passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

As a Behavioural Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils presenting with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, anxiety, trauma-related behaviours, and emotional dysregulation
 * Work 1:1 or with small groups to promote emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and positive behaviour
 * Use de-escalation strategies, restorative approaches, and behaviour support techniques
 * Assist teaching staff in creating personalised support plans and adapting learning activities
 * Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and resilience
 * Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
 * Support with daily routines, pastoral care, and behaviour intervention strategiesWe Offer:
