Job Summary:
An esteemed client, with a legacy of fifty years in delivering high-premium residential developments, is seeking a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to step up or Commercial Manager to lead their commercial team. Responsibilities:
– Oversee the commercial aspects of bespoke construction projects, typically ranging from 10 to 30 units.
– Prepare and manage project budgets, including forecasting and cost reporting.
– Conduct site visits to monitor progress and identify potential commercial risks.
– Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
– Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and contractors.
– Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
– Collaborate with Site Managers and site teams to ensure project delivery meets the highest standards.
– Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
Requirements:
– Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
– Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
– Proven track record in managing the commercial aspects of residential construction projects.
– Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction software.
– Minimum of 2 years’ experience at a senior level, including preparing and managing budgets.
– Experience with land appraisals is advantageous.
– Predominantly housing experience, with a willingness to engage in diverse projects such as extending nursing homes.
