Cover Supervisor - Winchester

Prospero Teaching is recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across the Winchester area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting schools and students on a day‑to‑day or long‑term basis.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning and complete the work that has been set. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, youth workers, tutors, and experienced education professionals looking to build their experience within secondary education.

The Role:

Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the regular teacher
Deliver pre‑planned lessons and ensure students complete set work
Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Support students with classroom activities where required
Cover a range of subjects across the secondary curriculum
Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
Follow safeguarding and school policies consistentlyIdeal Candidate:

Experience working with young people
Confident managing groups of students independently
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Calm, professional, and adaptable approach
Able to build positive relationships with students and staff
Good classroom management and organisational skills
