Job Description

Are you a Design Manager experienced in leading engineering teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment? If so, then read on!

Our client is a well-established manufacturer delivering high-quality engineered products across the UK. As a respected name within their sector, they specialise in innovative product design and manufacturing solutions, supporting a wide range of industries.

They are expanding their capability and looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead a small engineering team and drive design excellence from concept through to production.

Salary to £60,000 | 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays | Half Day Friday (12:30 Finish) | Full-time

Design Manager Key Essentials:

*Reporting to senior leadership, as Design Manager your role will involve managing all design and engineering activities from concept through to production delivery
*Leading and developing a small team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical support
*Overseeing design projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards
*Using AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks to produce and review detailed engineering drawings and models
*Collaborating closely with production teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and efficient
*Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across design and manufacturing processes
*Ensuring all engineering activities comply with relevant standards and best practices
*Driving innovation and maintaining high standards across all design outputs

Design Manager Requirements:

*Qualified Mechanical Engineer
*Proven experience working as a Design Manager or in a similar leadership role within manufacturing
*Strong background in product design and manufacturing engineering
*Experience managing and developing small engineering teams
*Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks
*Strong communication and organisational skills
*Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
