We’re supporting a specialist organisation in the Heanor area who are looking to expand their technical support team with an experienced Diagnostic Support Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong diagnostic expertise who’s looking to step away from hands-on workshop duties and move into a problem-solving, advisory role.
The Role
Working as part of an established technical support team, you’ll use your diagnostic knowledge to help trade customers across the UK identify and resolve complex automotive issues.
This is a phone-based role where you’ll investigate faults, interpret data, and offer clear, confident guidance to mechanics and workshop teams.
To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:
You’ll be an experienced automotive professional with a strong background in diagnostics.
We’re looking for:
Excellent knowledge of vehicle electronics and modern diagnostics
Confident communication skills and the ability to guide others through technical procedures
Strong analytical thinking and the ability to problem-solve under time pressure
Someone comfortable working in a team-oriented, phone-based environment
A proactive approach and a genuine passion for helping others resolve complex faults
Within this position, you’ll also be:
Providing remote technical assistance to garages and vehicle technicians
Using diagnostic data, fault codes, and structured questioning to pinpoint issues
Identifying the root cause of electrical and electronic system faults
Working alongside internal engineering and workshop teams to reach accurate solutions
Recording all findings and case details to maintain clear technical documentation
Delivering professional, customer-focused support at all times
Salary and Hours
Monday to Friday 9am – 5:30pm
£32,0000 - £36000 per annum
