Domestic Abuse Refuge Manager

Leicester

Salary: £30,800 per annum
Hours of work: Full-time, Permanent

In partnership with a highly respected charity, I am recruiting for Refuge Manager for a 24-hour domestic abuse refuge in Leicester. This essential service provides safety, stability, and hope to women and children escaping domestic violence.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a dedicated team within a values-driven organisation that champions the rights and recovery of survivors. If you're an experienced professional with a background in care or social welfare, this role offers the chance to make a real and lasting impact.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Lead and manage staff rotas, performance, and professional development
Oversee budgets and financial processes
Recruit, train, and support staff members
Assist residents with housing and benefit applications
Maintain accurate records and use internal systems effectively
Represent the service through presentations and stakeholder engagement
Build strong partnerships with local authorities, community groups, and other organisationsApplications are welcome from compassionate and capable leaders who bring:

A relevant qualification or equivalent experience supporting vulnerable groups (women, children, survivors of domestic abuse)
At least 3 years' experience in a care or social welfare setting
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Fluency in English plus one main BAME language
Flexibility to work unsociable hours when required
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Ability to interpret and counsel effectively
Understanding of multi-agency working across statutory and voluntary sectors
Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance
