Early Years Room Manager Location: Woodford Green, IG8 0PN Salary: Up to £36,527.40per annum plus performance-related bonus Hours Available: 36 hours per week (8:00am-6:00pm across 4 days) 45 hours per week (8:00am-6:00pm across 5 days)Lead, Inspire and Make a Difference in Early Years Education An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Early Years Room Manager to join a thriving and ambitious nursery setting in Woodford Green. The Role As the Early Years Room Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of your designated room, ensuring children receive outstanding care, welfare and educational experiences. You will lead and motivate a team of practitioners, oversee planning and assessment processes, monitor children's progress, and maintain exceptional standards in line with the EYFS Framework, Ofsted requirements and nursery policies. Working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider leadership team, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support colleagues' development and help drive excellence across the setting. Key Responsibilities Room Leadership & Management Lead the daily running of your designated room Create a stimulating, engaging and inclusive learning environment Ensure consistently high standards of childcare, education and welfare Supervise, support and motivate practitioners within the room Work closely with senior leaders to achieve nursery objectives Support the implementation of new initiatives, procedures and quality improvementsTeaching, Learning & Child Development Deliver high-quality learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Support planning that reflects children's interests, abilities and developmental needs Support school readiness and children's social, emotional and cognitive development Ensure every child receives engaging and challenging learning opportunities Promote inclusion and equal opportunities for all childrenKey Person Responsibilities Act as an interim Key Person where required Develop strong and trusting relationships with children and families Monitor and support the progress and wellbeing of key children Complete observations, assessments and development records accurately Ensure parental observations are recorded and utilised effectively Contribute to children's learning journeys and developmental planningParent Partnerships Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers Encourage parent engagement and participation in nursery life Maintain regular communication regarding children's progress and wellbeing Use the Famly App effectively to maintain ongoing updates and communication Address parental queries professionally and promptly Establish trusting partnerships that support children's development both at nursery and at homeDocumentation & Assessment Ensure daily diaries are completed accurately and published in a timely manner Oversee and support the completion of high-quality observations Encourage team members to contribute regularly to children's learning records Monitor the quality and consistency of documentation across the room Maintain accurate records in line with nursery policies and regulatory requirementsSafeguarding, Health & Safety Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children Maintain excellent knowledge of safeguarding procedures and responsibilities Follow all local safeguarding and child protection guidelines Support compliance with Ofsted, EYFS and nursery standardsPerson Specification Essential Previous experience working within an Early Years setting Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Experience leading or supervising staff within a nursery environment Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years Education or equivalent Previous experience as a Room Leader, Senior Practitioner or Room Manager Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and inspection frameworksBenefits Salary & Rewards Salary up to £36,527.40 per annum Performance-related bonus of up to £2,000 per year Recognition and reward programmesHoliday Entitlement 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays Additional 3 days leave for Christmas closure Birthday leave upon successful completion of probation Up to 32 days annual leave entitlement overallWellbeing & Support Daily wellbeing breaks Up to 10 days full sick pay annually Regular staff celebrations, team events and recognition initiativesCareer Development Clear career progression opportunities Strong culture of internal promotion Ongoing professional development and trainingAdditional Benefits Full uniform provided Free local street parking available nearbyWhy Apply?
