Job Description

Our client is a leading provider of engineering, construction and maintenance services for critical environments across the UK. They deliver complex projects in sectors such as hospitals, schools, energy, and commercial buildings.

They currently have an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their design and engineering team. You will be involved from concept through to completion, delivering compliant and efficient electrical design solutions across a range of technically challenging projects.

Key responsibilities
• Produce detailed electrical designs for power distribution, lighting, containment, earthing and associated systems
• Work collaboratively with mechanical, structural and architectural teams to coordinate fully integrated designs
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, statutory regulations, and relevant British Standards
• Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering exercises
• Support project teams during installation and commissioning, resolving design-related queries
• Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control throughout the project lifecycle
• Liaise directly with clients, consultants and subcontractors to ensure smooth communication and design delivery

Skills and qualifications
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
• Proven experience in electrical design within construction, engineering, or building services environments
• Strong understanding of low-voltage systems design and associated standards
• Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Amtech, or Revit (desirable)
• Experience working on data centres, clean rooms, pharmaceutical or industrial projects is advantageous
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with a proactive, detail-focused approach
