Electrical Maintenance Engineer

A leading UK manufacturer of construction products is looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer/Fitter to join their busy production facilities in the Colchester area. This is a hands-on role where you'll keep high-output machinery running safely and efficiently. If you are an Electrically biased engineer with manufacturing experience, then this role offers variety and a great benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems and industrial machinery
Work on PLC-controlled equipment, overhead cranes, batching systems, and concrete cutting saws
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
Maintain and replace mechanical components (bearings, chains, sprockets, drives)
Assist with machinery installation, upgrades, and basic fabrication
Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulationsSkills & Experience
NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / BTEC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
17th or 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations qualified
Strong electrical fault-finding and repair skills
Industrial/manufacturing experience preferred (concrete, heavy plant, or construction materials)
PLC knowledge (Siemens S7 or similar)
Mechanically competent with basic fabrication skills
Physically fit, reliable, and able to work in a factory/workshop environment
Own transport required; flexible to work overtime/weekendsBenefits
