English Teacher 

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Bury area. This role is ideal for both experienced teachers and confident ECTs looking to develop their career within a well-established and forward-thinking school environment.

This role is to start after the Easter half term with the view to continue till July 2026.

Key Stages: KS3 & KS4

Start Date: 20th April 2026

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary or Temp-to-Perm

Pay: £168.00 - £233.00 per day (Paid to Scale - PTS)

 Role Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4
Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Support students of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs
Work collaboratively with the English department and wider school staff
Contribute to departmental planning, enrichment activities, and wider school life Experience, Training & Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school (ECTs encouraged to apply)
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English
Up-to-date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete this) Requirements

Right to Work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Two professional references covering the last two years How to Apply
