About the Role

The Estimator – Asphalt Surfacing & Civil Works will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of surfacing and civil engineering projects, supporting successful tender submissions within highways, local authority, and private sector works.

Working as an Estimator - Asphalt Surfacing & Civil Works, you will review tender information, build detailed pricing models, and coordinate supplier and subcontractor input to ensure commercially sound submissions. The Estimator - Asphalt Surfacing & Civil Works will work closely with commercial managers and operational teams to ensure estimates reflect realistic construction methodologies and current market conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

    Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

  * 

    Preparing detailed cost estimates for asphalt surfacing and associated civil works

  * 

    Measuring quantities from drawings and project information

  * 

    Building rates for labour, plant, materials, and subcontract packages

  * 

    Preparing pricing breakdowns and supporting tender documentation

  * 

    Ensuring tender submissions meet deadlines and company standards

  * 

    Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations

  * 

    Assessing pricing competitiveness and technical compliance

  * 

    Supporting tender adjudication and commercial review meetings

  * 

    Preparing pricing summaries and clarification documents
