Facilities Maintenance Engineer
Overview

Our client is seeking a Facilities Engineer to play a vital role in maintaining and improving the core infrastructure, utilities, and facilities that underpin their high-tech manufacturing and research operations.
In this hands-on position, you’ll ensure that all site equipment and utilities perform reliably and safely — from HVAC and compressed air systems to chillers, gas detection networks, and cleanroom environments. You’ll also manage contractors, lead improvement projects, and use data-driven KPIs to enhance performance and reduce downtime.
This role offers an exciting mix of technical responsibility, project ownership, and continuous improvement within a forward-thinking engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain critical site infrastructure, utilities, and building systems.

Oversee all site repairs, maintenance schedules, and asset performance.
*
Lead Total Productive Maintenance activities and ensure equipment compliance and uptime.
*
Drive improvement projects related to utilities, energy efficiency, and operational reliability.
*
Monitor contractor performance to ensure high standards of safety, quality, and delivery.
*
Track and analyse KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
*
Carry out electrical and mechanical installation or modification work where appropriate.
*
Support emergency maintenance and operational needs outside standard working hours.
*
Develop tools and communication processes that enhance collaboration across multiple sites.
About You
*
Strong mechanical fault-finding and root-cause analysis skills.
*
Experience in TPM or KPI-driven maintenance environments.
*
Working knowledge of HVAC, BMS, compressors, chillers, and cleanroom or similar controlled environments.
*
Skilled in both electrical and mechanical systems with a safety-first approach.
*
Proven ability to align maintenance priorities with broader business objectives.
*
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across all levels.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking systems (e.g., PPM / Helpdesk software).
*
Full UK driving licence.
*
Hands-on problem solver with the initiative to improve systems, processes, and reliability.
