Job Description

Job Title: Finance Administrator (Temporary)
Location: Rockbeare Hill, Rockbeare, Exeter, Devon, EX5 2HB
Pay Rate: £13.50 - £16.50 per hour PAYE (depending on experience)
Duration: 6-8 weeks (potential to extend depending on outcome of sickness absence)
Hours: Full-time preferred, ideally through to end of September

JML are currently recruiting for a Temporary Finance Administrator to provide cover for sickness and holidays within a busy finance/purchase ledger team. This role would suit a candidate available immediately for a short-term placement — including students looking for summer work before returning to university — though all suitable candidates are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Processing invoices against Goods Received Notes (GRNs)

  * Sending processed invoices through workflow for approval

  * Monitoring the shared Purchase Ledger inbox alongside the wider team

  * Uploading invoices received by email or post

  * Responding to supplier queries via phone and email

  * Forwarding unprocessable invoices raised as workflow queries to relevant project teams for resolution

  * Escalating urgent items (e.g. legal notices, payment-related issues) to the appropriate person

Requirements:
✅ Previous finance/administration experience preferred
✅ Comfortable working with invoices, purchase ledgers, and workflow systems
✅ Confident communicator, able to liaise with suppliers and internal teams
✅ Organised, accurate, and able to manage a busy inbox

Desirable:
⭐ Payroll experience (bonus, not essential)
