Job Summary: They are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Engineer to join their growing team. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and support of fire alarm systems across a variety of client sites. The role requires strong technical knowledge, an important level of customer service, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to ensure that systems are compliant, dependable, and effective. You will play a key role in ensuring fire safety standards are upheld and that systems are functioning at peak performance, helping to protect people, property, and operations. Key Responsibilities: Install, test, and commission fire alarm systems in line with technical designs and relevant industry standards. Conduct routine inspections and planned maintenance activities to ensure systems remain fully operational. Diagnose and repair system faults efficiently, resolving issues that cause false or unwanted alarms. Deliver technical support and training to clients and internal colleagues to improve system performance and user understanding. Ensure all installations and maintenance work complies with current fire safety legislation and industry codes of practice. Manage your workload to meet agreed project timelines and budget constraints. Submit accurate documentation, including service reports, commissioning certificates, and system updates. Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery. Support wider business objectives as needed, taking on additional responsibilities as directed by senior management. Qualifications and Skills: Solid understanding of fire industry standards and codes of practice. Strong technical expertise in fire alarm systems and system design. Physically fit and comfortable working at heights. Knowledge of health & safety best practices, including preparation of risk assessments and method statements. Relevant electrical installation training or qualifications. Familiarity with fire alarm systems from manufacturers such as Honeywell, Siemens, and Hochiki (training provided where required). Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the fire industry is preferred. Consideration may be given to candidates with relevant experience in adjacent technical fields. Personal Attributes: Highly meticulous and technically proficient. Strong critical thinking skills with an initiative-taking approach to fault-finding and resolution. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — both written and verbal. Self-motivated and capable of managing workload independently. Team player with a collaborative mindset.
