Job Description

Location: Alfreton 

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience) 

Summary:  
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Fleet & Workshop Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, and operational efficiency of our client's fleet and workshop facilities. This is a key role ensuring that all company vehicles are safe, reliable, cost-effective, and compliant with regulations, while leading a skilled team of workshop staff and drivers. 

Key Responsibilities: 
● Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet and workshop. 
● Manage the servicing, repair, and maintenance schedules for all vehicles and equipment. 
● Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Maintenance Technicians. 
● Ensure all vehicles meet safety and legal compliance requirements. 
● Control budgets, manage suppliers, and negotiate with parts and service providers. 
● Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs and engineering activities. 
● Drive continuous improvement across the fleet and workshop operation. 

Key Skills / Experience: 
● Proven experience in fleet management and workshop supervision. 
● Strong technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes, with addition of relevant qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ).
● Excellent understanding of transport regulations, H&S standards and compliance requirements. 
● Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and deliver operational improvements. 
● Proficient in fleet management systems and Microsoft Office applications. 
● HGV licence and International CPC qualification (desirable but not essential).
