Field Service Forklift Engineer

Location: West Midlands

Salary: £35,000–£38,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Overtime

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Field Service Forklift Engineer to join our growing engineering team, covering the West Midlands region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys working independently, diagnosing faults, and providing first-class service to customers. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment at customer sites, ensuring maximum reliability and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Service, maintain, and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment.

Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel/LPG faults.

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).

Complete breakdown repairs efficiently, aiming for first-time fixes.

Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before they become major faults.

Complete service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Manage van stock, tools, and spare parts.

Deliver excellent customer service and build strong relationships with customers.

Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience servicing and repairing forklift trucks or similar mobile plant equipment.

Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills.

Knowledge of diesel, LPG, or electric-powered equipment.

A proactive approach to problem-solving.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

A full UK driving licence.
