Forklift Field Service Engineer

Location: Midlands

Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 per annum

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

Role Type: Field Based

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Forklift Field Service Engineer to join our growing engineering team, covering customer sites across the Midlands.

This is a hands-on field-based role for a technically capable engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and working directly with customers. You’ll be responsible for keeping a range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment safe, reliable and operational.

You’ll work independently across a varied customer base, carrying out planned maintenance, servicing, breakdown repairs and inspections, while being supported by an experienced service and operations team.

What You'll Be Doing

Carry out servicing, planned preventative maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks and material handling equipment.

Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.

Attend customer sites across the Midlands to respond to breakdowns and service requirements.

Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.

Carry out repairs and component replacements safely and efficiently.

Identify recurring faults and recommend appropriate solutions.

Complete accurate service reports and maintain records of work carried out.

Provide professional, reliable customer service at every site visit.

Manage your daily workload and respond effectively to changing priorities.

Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicle to a high standard.

Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant health and safety requirements.

About You

We’re looking for an engineer with strong practical experience and a solid understanding of forklift or material handling equipment.

You’ll ideally have:

Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Mobile Engineer or similar.

Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.

Experience servicing and repairing forklift trucks or similar material handling equipment.

A methodical, practical approach to diagnosing and resolving faults.

Good communication and customer service skills.

The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.

A professional approach when representing the business at customer sites.

A full, valid UK driving licence.

Experience with electric, diesel or LPG-powered forklift trucks would be advantageous.
