Job Description

Job Title: General Foreman - Highways Civils
 Location: Dewsbury, Leeds
 Rate: £300 per day (Outside IR35)
 Start Date: End of April
 Contract Duration: Ongoing work until at least Christmas

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced General Foreman to join a Tier 2 contractor delivering a highways civils scheme. This is a site-based role requiring strong leadership, coordination, and a proactive approach to health & safety and programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day site operations on a highways civils project
Supervise site teams, subcontractors, and operatives to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
Ensure all works are carried out in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures
Coordinate site activities to meet programme deadlines
Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks, and inductions
Monitor quality of works and ensure compliance with specifications
Liaise with site management, engineers, and project stakeholders
Maintain accurate site records and reports

Requirements

Proven experience as a General Foreman on highways or civils projects
Strong supervisory background with the ability to lead teams effectively
Excellent knowledge of health & safety regulations and site compliance
Ability to manage multiple work fronts and prioritise workload

Essential Qualifications

CSCS Gold Card
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
